The British Glass Foundation applied to FCC Communities Foundation in late 2021 for funding towards the external landscaping and gateway area to the new home of the renowned Stourbridge Glass collection on the site of the old Stuart Crystal glassworks. The application requested funding for the external landscaping at the museum to include seating, artwork and interpretation panels.

The project has delivered a circular landscaping and interpretation experience that reflects the heritage of the former glass site, and includes gabion seating, cycle racks and external engagement activities. Central to the area is a lighting structure representing a glass cone, a building which once stood on the site and was used historically for glass production in the UK.

The new Museum was opened in April 2023, with the external landscaping being completed in July 2023.
