Get Fit and Have Fun at Causeway Park!

Work has now finished on the complete replacement of the park’s play equipment in Causeway Park, Latchford, Warrington, giving the area a new lease of life. As part of the project (which has a farm theme) a range of outdoor gym equipment has been installed for older children and adults.

The park has now been transformed into a modern, exciting play zone, with new, inclusive equipment, to ensure everyone is able to have fun.

The new play area officially opened on Friday 11 October. Warrington Borough Council’s cabinet member for leisure and community, Cllr Tony Higgins, joined local children to celebrate the completion of the project.

Cllr Higgins said: “The improved Causeway Park play area will bring huge benefits to the community, providing high quality, inclusive play facilities and encouraging children to get fit and active. I look forward to it bringing a great deal of happiness to local families for many years to come.”

Grant funding of £50,000 was awarded by FCC Communities Foundation, with Warrington Borough Council contributing a further £70,000 towards the project.

Richard Smith, Grant Manager for FCC Communities Foundation said: “It is great to see a scheme we have funded reach completion. I visited the project earlier this week, it looks superb and I am sure it will be well used by the community.”

KOMPAN were the contractors for the scheme, which took approximately 10 weeks to complete.
