What a way to start the New Year!

Building work is now underway as scheduled and commenced on Tuesday 4th January to create a new and improved kitchen facility within the Village Hall for the residents, hirers and visitors to the Parish in Rutland.

The Cottesmore Village Hall and Community Centre project is a step closer now that the work has commenced, and the first stage of the process is to remove the old kitchen units and obsolete and outdated equipment from the area. The project will see the original 1970’s kitchen completely removed from the site on Main Street, Cottesmore before a full refurbishment of the area.

The project, which is being funded by a significant grant of £16,759.73 from FCC Communities Foundation, will provide a fully refurbished area including brand new kitchen floor and wall units, cooker, fridge, freezer and dishwasher, once it is open in mid-February 2022.

Ian Pluck, Treasurer of Cottesmore Village Hall Trust believes the investment is delighted that the project is starting to take shape. He says: “It’s great to see this project, that started with consultant with local groups and vital for the future of our community facility moving closer to reality. We are extremely grateful for the funding FCC Communities Foundation has given us and we’re looking forward to opening the kitchen to the public.”
