Nursery Ski Slope is being re-born!
13/10/2025
Work is underway to improve the nursery ski slope at Ackers Adventure in Birmingham following the award of a £69,662 grant from FCC Communities Foundation.
The funding is being used to resurface the slope where beginners take their first steps into skiing. The improvement will benefit hundreds of people each year, from school groups and community clubs to individuals learning to ski for the very first time.
Mark Scott, Winter Sports Manager at Ackers Adventure, said:
"This project will make a big difference to everyone who learns to ski here. The nursery slope is where people build their confidence, so having a safe, high-quality surface is essential."
Sue Macbeath, Business Manager at Ackers Adventure, added:
"We are very grateful that FCC Communities Foundation has awarded us this money. It will be a huge improvement and will help secure the long-term future of Ackers. The work is being done by our fantastic team of staff and volunteers, and we expect to reopen the nursery slope shortly."
The refurbishment of the nursery slope is part of Ackers Adventure’s ongoing commitment to providing accessible, affordable outdoor activities for the local community and beyond.
