Funding approved for new cricket nets facility.

The money will be used to provide a new double bay full length cricket practice net facility at the cricket club.

Don Wright, Chairman at Rainton CC, believes the facility will make a huge difference to the lives of people living in the area.

He says: “This project will provide a real boost to the people of Rainton and surrounding villages. The club has three adult teams and a rapidly growing junior section who will all benefit from these fabulous new facilities. It’s fantastic that FCC Communities Foundation has awarded us this money and we’re really looking forward to our new practice net facility taking shape and being in place early next season”

Head of the Rainton CC junior section Pete Keighley said “The existing old net facility was no longer fit for purpose and with a rapidly growing junior section we felt that the next step in the club’s development should be to have much improved net practice facilities. There is huge excitement that we will now be able to push ahead and I am thrilled that FCC Communities Foundation is supporting us so strongly to enable us to do this.”
