Taking place on the 21st May the play area was opened by Parish Council Chairman, Cllr Wayne Major with the assistance of fellow Parish Councillors, Cheryl Raynor from FCC Communities Foundation and delighted children from Westfield Pre-School.

Following community consultation, the play area has been transformed into a vibrant and exciting space for families and younger children to enjoy. A Fantasy Fun Trail has been installed, together with a large picnic area and perimeter fencing. Trees will be planted shortly to offer shade and it is intended to finalise the project with a toddler play frame and 2 rockers which will be funded by a grant from Awards for All.

Cllr Major said, ‘We are all thrilled with the new equipment and cannot thank FCC Communities Foundation enough for the grant. The new play area is a great asset to the community and will cater for a wide range of ages. The park can be enjoyed by everyone and it is evident that more children and families are using the new facilities. The whole project has been a great success’.
