A Hall for the Future: Major Marham Project Officially Complete

06/10/2026

The doors are officially open at Marham Village Hall following the completion of a major extension and refurbishment project that has transformed the much-loved community building into a modern, flexible space for residents to enjoy for years to come.

Made possible through a grant of £51,634.82 from FCC Communities Foundation, together with support from the CIL Community Fund, The National Lottery Community Fund, Marham Parish Council and local fundraising efforts, the project has breathed new life into one of the village's most important community assets.

The transformation includes new accessible toilet facilities, additional storage space and the creation of a versatile new room for activities, meetings and events. The improvements have also restored valuable space within the main hall, making it easier than ever for local groups, clubs and organisations to come together under one roof.

For many residents, the reopening marks the culmination of years of planning, fundraising and community determination. The upgraded hall is already attracting interest from local groups and is set to become a thriving hub for activities, celebrations and social events across the village.

Councillor Valerie Inder, Chair of Marham Parish Council, said:

"This is a fantastic day for Marham. The village hall sits at the heart of our community, and seeing the transformation completed is incredibly rewarding. The new facilities have created a welcoming, modern space that can be enjoyed by residents of all ages, whether they're attending a class, meeting friends, joining a club or celebrating a special occasion. We can't wait to see the hall filled with activity."

Cheryl Raynor, Grant Manager at FCC Communities Foundation, said:

"It's always exciting to see a project move from plans on paper to a facility that people can use and enjoy. The transformation of Marham Village Hall is a wonderful example of what can be achieved when a community comes together behind a shared vision. We are proud to have supported a project that will bring people together, create new opportunities and provide a lasting benefit for local residents for many years to come."

Marham Parish Council would like to thank all funding partners, volunteers, supporters and residents whose contributions helped turn this ambitious project into a reality. With the hall now open and ready for use, the community can finally enjoy the benefits of a facility designed to serve Marham's future as well as its present.
