Community gets planting at Hoole Way Gardens

A team of 11 people assisted officers and contractors to apply the finishing touches to the stunning new community garden at Hoole Way. The team planted over 1,000 bulbs together with shrubs and climbers around the base of the iconic Supertrees.

The Supertrees will introduce a new locally distinctive and visually stimulating focal point. The sculptures will create an environment for biodiversity that would not typically exist within the city but will take a few years to fully establish. The project received a grant of £48,000 from FCC Communities Foundation for re-landscaping, access improvements, creation of planting areas and the manufacture and installation of the Supertrees.

A new mural will be created in the subway that accesses the area and Chester Zoo plan to use the garden as an education space to connect the natural world with the city.
