Greetham Community Centre Unveils New Roof
15/06/2026
Greetham Community Centre is pleased to announce the completion of its brand-new roof, thanks to funding from FCC Communities Foundation. This essential improvement saw both the pitched and flat roofs replaced, to ensure the centre remains a safe, warm, and welcoming space for the local community.
The new roof replaces ageing materials that have become increasingly difficult and expensive to maintain. The completed works mark a significant step in securing the long-term sustainability of the building and safeguarding its role at the heart of village life.
The community is absolutely thrilled to celebrate the completion of our new roof — a transformation that secures the future of our much‑loved centre and breathes new life into everything we do. This fantastic upgrade means we can continue hosting children's parties, village celebrations, yoga sessions, the community café, craft and art groups, parent and baby classes, zumba, cinema club, pickleball, badminton, bowls, and countless other cherished activities that bring people together. The days of worrying about leaks and tired building fabric are well and truly behind us. With proper insulation now in place, we look forward to enjoying greater energy efficiency and a reduced environmental footprint — a win for both the centre and the planet!
Chair of Greetham Community Centre, Pat Evans said: “We are absolutely delighted with the new roof and extremely grateful to FCC Communities Foundation for funding the project. This upgrade means our community can continue to enjoy a reliable and vibrant centre for many years to come.”
Cheryl Raynor, Grant Manager at FCC Communities Foundation, said:
“We are delighted to have supported Greetham Community Centre with funding towards the roof replacement. Community facilities play an essential role in bringing people together, reducing isolation, and providing space for activities that benefit residents of all ages. We’re pleased that our funding has helped secure the building’s future and ensure it remains a much-loved facility in the local community.”
Greetham Community Centre extends its thanks to FCC Communities Foundation, local contractor D.G. Meldrum Roofing, and all supporters who contributed to making the project possible. With its new roof now in place, the centre looks forward to welcoming groups and visitors into a refreshed and secure environment.
