06/01/2026
Faversham Pools is pleased to announce the successful completion of a major energy efficiency project, made possible by a grant of £52,231 from the FCC Communities Foundation.
The project has delivered a series of important upgrades designed to reduce energy use, improve sustainability, and enhance the experience for pool users. The completed works include the installation of a new indoor pool cover for the learner pool, upgraded chemical dosing systems, and the replacement of a 30-year-old electrical control panel.
The new learner pool cover is already providing immediate benefits by significantly improving heat retention and maintaining a consistent water temperature throughout the day. Providing comfort for younger swimmers and those taking part in lessons, while also reducing energy demand and supporting long-term carbon reduction.
The upgraded dosing systems have improved the accuracy and reliability of water quality monitoring. With clearer digital displays and real-time fault alerts, staff can now respond more quickly to any issues, ensuring consistently safe swimming conditions. These improvements also support more efficient chemical use, helping to reduce waste and operating costs.
The replacement of the ageing control panel has future-proofed the plant room, providing a modern, reliable system that integrates seamlessly with the new equipment and lays the groundwork for further efficiency improvements in the future.
General Manager, Jon Lazenby, says: Faversham Pools would like to extend its sincere thanks to FCC Communities Foundation for their generous support for a second time running. This investment will have a lasting positive impact on the facility, helping to reduce environmental impact while ensuring the Pools remain a welcoming, sustainable, and much-loved community hub for years to come.
