Funding approved for a Multi Use Games Area in Holton Le Clay

02/03/2020

The residents of Holton Le Clay are set to get a new multi-use games area thanks to a £49,885 grant from FCC Communities Foundation.

The money will be used to install a pitch for a variety of games such as netball, 5-a-side football and basketball on an area of derelict land owned by the Parish Council.

Councillor Helen Reynolds of Holton Le Clay Parish Council believes the facility will make a huge difference to the lives of both children and adults in the area.

She says: “The project will provide a real boost to the older children and adults with an interest in sports and keeping fit. It is fantastic that FCC Communities Foundation has awarded us this money and we are really looking forward to our MUGA and Skate Park taking shape over the next 12 months.”

There is a lot of work to be done such as resurfacing the existing tennis courts, installing new fencing and marking out the pitches.

The council hope the sports area will be used by many of the 5,500 residents, regardless of age or ability and will be available for all to use.
