Funding approved for Banchory Woodland Trails Project

12/01/2023

Banchory Community in Aberdeenshire Scotland are set to get a new forest trails network bringing new mountain biking trails and Community woodland to the town in part thanks to a £31,128 grant from FCC Communities Foundation.

The money will be used to develop and build the Blue trail as well as upgrade the core multipurpose path which cuts across the site at the Corsee Woods location on the west side of Banchory.

Jamie Ritchie, Funding Lead & Trustee of Deeside Bike Collective believes the facility will make a huge difference to the lives of people living in the area.

He says: “This project will provide a real boost to the people of Banchory, It’s fantastic that FCC Communities Foundation has awarded us this money and we’re really looking forward to our Trails taking shape over the next few months”

FCC Communities Foundation is a not-for-profit business that awards grants for community projects through the Scottish Landfill Communities Fund.

Cheryl Raynor, FCC Community Foundations grant manager says: “We are delighted to be supporting Deeside Bike Collective to bring this project to fruition, this is an exciting project and we look forward to work starting shortly”.

Jamie Ritchie hopes the Woodland Trails will be ready to use by Summer 2023.
