New look community building unveiled after £100,000 renovation in Milton Keynes

23/01/2026

Stacey Bushes Meeting Place officially re-opened this week allowing users to see the recent renovations.

The renovation has transformed the building into a modern, inclusive, and fully accessible hub for local residents, says Wolverton and Greenleys Town Council, which took over management of the centre from MK City Council in 2023.

The town council has shown unwavering commitment to protecting and enhancing this “vital” local community asset and acquired a generous grant from the FCC Communities Foundation to fund the improvements.

Countess Howe, His Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Buckinghamshire, cut the ribbon at the re-opening, which was attended by the Mayor of Milton Keynes, the Mayor of Wolverton, local parish councillors, neighbourhood police, the dedicated project team and members of the local community.

The town council has thanked the project team, including appointed architect and project manager Racheal Hulme, the structural engineer, Town Council staff and building contractors Woodwork X Limited,

A spokesperson said: “Looking ahead, the Town Council is excited to expand the centre’s programme of activities and services. Upcoming offerings include Youth Boxing Sessions, a Knit and Natter group, a new Lunch Club, Arts & Crafts by Arts for Health, and twice-monthly advice sessions from Milton Keynes Citizens Advice Bureau, ensuring essential support is available at the heart of the community.”

They added: “The newly refurbished centre is already proving popular with local groups and residents, reflecting the strong demand for high-quality, accessible community space. “
