Re-roofing Works Begin at Tarporley Community Centre


Building work is under way to create an improved Community Centre for residents in Tarporley and District, Cheshire thanks to a FCC Communities Foundation grant of £37,529.

Work on the new roof for Tarporley Community Centre, at High St Tarporley, due to cost £106,906.80, is now well underway and progressing well.

The work will be carried out by Team Roundhouse Ltd of Kingsley and should be completed by the end of July, weather permitting and social distancing will be practiced throughout the work in accordance with Government advice.

Anita Langford, Treasurer of Tarporley & District Community Centre is excited that the project is starting to take shape.

She says: “It’s great to see our vision for this vital community facility moving closer to reality. We are extremely grateful for the funding FCC Communities Foundation has given us and we’re looking forward to opening to the public.”

Tony Yeates, the Trustee in charge of maintenance and projects, said, "The good weather has enabled the roofing work to proceed at a fast pace. We are also very pleased that no decayed or worm eaten rafters have been found so far. Our contractor is doing a good job."
