Refurbishment work now complete at Wallingford Sports Park

11/08/2023

Improving accessibility and delivering a program of internal refurbishment has created a welcoming, attractive facility for all at the sports park in Oxfordshire.

The project has been successfully completed by The Wallingford Sports Trust, and can now be enjoyed by the local community. Key features include:

A generous, outdoor covered seating area accessed through bi-fold doors from both function rooms within the pavilion. This will be a fantastic space as it overlooks the sports pitches and can be heated and lit creating a fully usable all year round space. Furthermore, the committee is hoping to establish a cafe allowing visitors the opportunity to sit back and enjoy the view with light refreshments.

The old-fashioned 'Hockey' room has been transformed into a modern, bright space with industrial-style fixtures and fittings, new contemporary furniture, shelving, new flooring, and cladding around the bar. The space will be used by numerous sports clubs in addition to being hired by community groups for leisure and recreation.

The total cost of the project was £86,000.00 with FCC Communities Foundation contributing a grant of £76,000.00

We think the end result is fantastic.
