Stoke Ferry Village Hall Project Moves into Phase 2
01/06/2026
Work to upgrade Stoke Ferry Village Hall is gathering momentum, with the project now progressing into Phase 2 of its transformation.
The hall has been at the centre of village life since 1968, but ongoing issues with damp, heat loss and rising costs have highlighted the need for significant improvements. With no new facility delivered despite earlier plans, upgrading the existing hall became a priority for the growing community.
Prior to FCC Communities Foundation’s involvement, the building had already benefited from the replacement of its roof and installation of solar panels, important early improvements that helped set the stage for further work.
With FCC Communities Foundation funding in place, Phase 1 of the project focused on installing a modern heating and cooling system. Now complete, this system is integrated with the solar panels, providing year-round comfort while improving energy efficiency and reducing running costs.
The project has now moved into Phase 2, which will see further upgrades including new external, internal and fire doors, improved insulation, external rendering to address damp, and interior enhancements to create a more welcoming and vibrant community space.
Strong local support has been at the heart of the project, with residents and community groups actively backing the improvements through consultation, fundraising and ongoing engagement, underlining the hall’s importance as a vital social hub.
Reflecting on progress, Cheryl Raynor, Grant Manager at FCC Communities Foundation, said:
“It’s fantastic to see how far the Stoke Ferry Village Hall project has come. With the heating and cooling system now in place and Phase 2 underway, real progress is being made towards creating a more sustainable, comfortable and welcoming space for the whole community.”
