Work begins on the Village Hall refurbishment in Thurgarton

Building work is under way to improve the much loved hall now that social distancing can be implemented!

The project, which is being funded by a £49,230 grant from FCC Communities Foundation, will provide a new insulated roof, insulated walls, replacement cladding and windows to the venue in Thurgarton. This will bring long term benefits to the community and the groups and classes that uses it in normal times.

The Chair of the Thurgarton Community Association, and Vice Chair of the Parish Council, David Lewis, is excited that the project is starting to take shape given the delays of building works with Corona virus.

He says “It is great to see our vision for this vital community facility moving closer to reality. We are extremely grateful for the funding FCC Communities Foundation has given us and we’re looking forward to reopening it to the public once the work is complete and the virus has passed.

David hopes the facility will be ready for use by August 2020
