Work completes on the new Russet Road Playpark in Weaverham

FCC Communities Foundation awarded a grant of £95,543.10 to Weaverham Parish Council, who also committed £87,302 of their own funding to make the project happen.

Councillor Peter Wilkinson of Weaverham Parish Council believes the facility will make a huge difference to the lives of people living in the area. He says: “This project will provide a real boost to the people of Weaverham. It’s fantastic that FCC Communities Foundation has awarded us this money and we’re all really looking forward to our new Playpark opening.”

Richard Smith, Senior Grant Manager at FCC Communities Foundation added: "It is brilliant to see this playpark transformed and looking so good. The Parish Council have worked hard to create a hub for young people in Weaverham, with a range of facilities now available for them to come and use. The new playpark builds on the success of the Multi Use Games Area, which FCC Communities Foundation also supported with a grant of £58,174.79 back in 2020.
