Kitchen and toilets for all to enjoy

The community of Lenton are celebrating following the opening of the newly refurbished kitchen and accessible toilet.

Centre users can now enjoy a cup of tea in the beautiful surroundings following a launch party attended by Local Councillor Pavlos Kotsonis, at Thomas Helwys Baptist Church in Lenton on Monday 7th October.

The newly fitted kitchen, with all new appliances and work surfaces, and the conversion of the toilets to accommodate people with accessibility needs are included in this refurbishment, which was funded by a grant of £56,591 from FCC Communities Foundation.

Rev Gill Isterling, minister of Thomas Helwys Baptist Church, is delighted that the project is now in use.

She says “We have been looking to improve the facilities for a long time, as the community do use the building for lots of events, and deserve to have proper facilities. It will make a big difference to those who use the building every week. We are extremely grateful to FCC Communities Foundation for providing the funding as we would not have been able to go ahead without their support.”
