Belmont Road play area reopens after full refurbishment
25/04/2025
The official launch took place on Friday, March 21, and included a ribbon-cutting ceremony led by Northwich's deputy town mayor, Cllr Julie Macdonald, alongside children and parents from local community groups.
The play area has swings, slides, roundabouts, trim trails, and a trampoline, creating a safe and engaging space for children to play.
The £185,000 refurbishment project was helped with a £96,000 grant from FCC Communities Foundation.
Other funds came from a nearby property developer, councillors' personal budgets, Rudheath and Witton Together, and Northwich Town Council.
Cllr Macdonald said: "This vital facility is going to make a real difference to those who use it, as well as the wider Northwich community.
"We are extremely grateful to FCC Communities Foundation for providing funding, as we would not have been able to go ahead without its support."
Ward councillor for nearby Rudheath, Olwyn Dean, also shared her enthusiasm for the project.
She said: "Living just around the corner, I can already see the difference this facility has made to the local community.
