Birchover Park - Play area Improvements and new “Multi Use Games Area” coming soon.

03/11/2025

Families will soon be able to enjoy a newly refurbished and expanded play area at Birchover Park in Bilborough, thanks to a £100,000 grant awarded to Nottingham City Council by FCC Communities Foundation.

The funding has enabled significant improvements to the play facilities at this well used green space, which is a popular destination for local families. The upgraded play area will feature exciting new equipment including, climbing frames, spinning carousel, and enhanced safety surfacing — all designed to offer children a fun, active, and inclusive outdoor experience. In addition to the play area improvements, a brand new multi-use games area will be created to replace the underused basket ball goals in the car park.

Cllr Corall Jenkins, Executive Member for Neighbourhoods, Waste and Equalities, Nottingham City Council, said:

“This project has provided a real boost to the people of Nottingham. It’s fantastic that FCC Communities Foundation has awarded us this funding, and it’s wonderful to see the improvements now in place and being enjoyed by local families.”

Nottingham City Council had hoped the play area and ball court will be ready and open to use by March 2026.
