New Pica Play Park now open following official launch

Residents of Pica and the surrounding area are celebrating following the opening of a new Play Park facility.

The Pica Play Park is officially up and running following a launch party attended by the Friends Of Pica CIO Trustees in October.

The Play Park has undergone a full transformation to create a safe, modern fun environment for children and families to enjoy, this includes an all inclusive whirl roundabout, 2x play activity panels, double bay and nest swing set, a multi-play climb and slide unit as well as high grade bonded rubber mulch for safety which was funded by a £40,990.42 grant from FCC Communities Foundation.

Janine Ward, Chair of Friends of Pica CIO is delighted that the Play Park project is now in use.

She says: “This vital facility is going to make a real difference to those who use it, as well as the wider Pica community. We are extremely grateful to FCC Communities Foundation for providing funding as we would not have been able to go ahead without its support.”

The project marks a major milestone for the area bringing people together, reducing loneliness and creating an inclusive social space for children and families to enjoy in a safe, fun and modern environment.
