Newly refurbished 3 Lane Outdoor Community Practice Net now open.

Methley Cricket Club are celebrating following the opening of the refurbished 3 lane practice facility at the club on Little Church Lane.

The 3 Lane Outdoor Community Practice Net is officially up and running with an official opening event planned for Spring 2026.

The project undertaken by Verde Sports involved firstly taking down the old nets. Groundworks and new surfacing then followed, before the new nets could be installed. Luckily everything went to plan with the installation!

The work was possible due to a grant of £17,160 grant from FCC Communities Foundation and £15,000 from Sport England.

Thanks to the funders and the volunteers involved in the club, the community now have a fantastic facility for practicing cricket. With these improvements, it is expected an additional 150+ users will visit the site.

Methley Cricket Club Chairman, Michael Waite, is delighted that the nets are now in use.
