Official Opening of Caldecott Village Playground

Building work has now been completed on the play park, which has been designed to suit children of all ages with wooden climbing frames, swings, a playfort, zipwire, slide, seesaw, benches and a picnic area.

The facility has been built on a Parish owned playing field and was primarily funded by a £30,000 grant from FCC Communities Foundation. The completion of the building work also marks an end to huge fundraising effort by the local community, who contributed over £7,300 through donations and a variety of fundraising activities.

Andrew MacDermott, Caldecott Parish Councillor, is delighted that the playground has been realised. He says “We hope this play park will make a real difference to the village, for children, for families and as a community meeting place for all. We are extremely grateful to FCC Communities Foundation for providing funding and to Caldecott residents who have pulled together to raise money.”

The local community and media are all invited to the official opening; a local village donor will be cutting the ribbon at 11am on Saturday the 30th November and mulled wine and mince pies will be served to celebrate.
