Refurbishment Completed - Northampton Road Pavilion and Tennis Courts
06/11/2025
Working in partnership with Kettering Tennis Club, North Northamptonshire Council received funding to refurbish the community room and tennis courts at Northampton Road Pavilion thanks to a £68,882 grant from FCC Communities Foundation.
The money, was used to resurface the four outdoor tennis courts, provide outdoor seating and refurbish the community room within the pavilion in Kettering. The project would not have been possible without the third-party contribution of £7,404.82 from Kettering Tennis Clubs own funds.
Councillor Brian Benneyworth Executive Member for Health and Leisure said the refurbishment has made a huge difference to the current facilities. He said: “This project has provided a real boost to the people of Kettering and surrounding areas. It’s fantastic that FCC Communities Foundation awarded us this money and we are really looking forward to the refurbished facilities increasing usage and encouraging more people to take up tennis”.
The courts are open and available for members of the public to book and play, as well as Kettering Tennis Club members. The official opening will link into the clubs open day in April 2026.
The project would not have been possible without the invaluable support of Kettering Tennis Club. Their enthusiasm for the court transformation was so great that they generously funded the installation of a new seating area within the court perimeter, which has now been completed. This addition will significantly enhance the experience for both players and spectators.
