Major funding boost to bring modern heating to St George's Hall

Vital funding will help bring St George's Hall's heating system into the 21st century, improving comfort while reducing energy use.

St George’s Hall has received a grant from the FCC Communities Foundation, through the Landfill Communities Fund supported by Severn Waste Services, to replace its ageing boiler with a modern, energy-efficient system.

Jenny Robbins, chair of trustees, said: "This funding is wonderful news for St George’s Hall and for the wider community that we serve.

"Replacing our ageing boiler has been a significant priority for the trustees, and we are extremely grateful to FCC Communities Foundation and Severn Waste Services for their support.

"This investment will help ensure that St George's Hall remains a welcoming, accessible and sustainable community asset for many years to come."

The boiler replacement forms part of a broader programme of investment aimed at improving the hall and supporting its long-term sustainability.

St George's Hall supports a wide range of activities and organisations, including community groups, cultural events, cinema screenings, live music performances, educational activities and social gatherings.

The hall and community café together welcome approximately 80,000 visits each year.

Trustees have extended their 'sincere thanks' to the funders for supporting the upgrade.
